Seeing Henry at the reunion was this year's big surprise for me. I often wondered if I'd ever see you again! I just wish I'd been less busy and tired so I could have spent more time with everybody. It was also a nice surprise to see Sharon Mulcahy and Jacque Brooks but I did not get any contact info for them. If anyone knows how to reach them let me know! Hi to Scott S. and David B. if they check in.

The 35th reunion was really cool. Thanks to all those who works so hard to pull it off. Though I am very thankful for the opportunity to meet the old friends that made it, I so regret that more were not able to make it, especially those from Hohokam Elementary. I understand that someone may be trying to start a happy hour get together now and then....I'm liking that...maybe I will see more of you at those?
Oh.....by the way...Kathy Fox...could you do he splits again? I was playing pool and missed it.....Ah...ya never know what you will miss when this bunch gets together....good times Henry

It is with so much wonder that my high school managed to contact me. I have been very busy with life - a wonderful son and some bad marriages. 25 years in Colorado rocky mountains 4-wheeling and hiking and fishing and I now am living one block from Windansea beach in La jolla. I still pursue my painting. I now work with exotic cars and run race car events. Before that I ran pie baking contests and Emma Crawford coffin races and cookies with Santa in Manitou Springs Colorado. I have skied the continental divide, kayaked with leopard sharks, sailed the Caribbean on tall sail ships, danced with the locals, and have loved, laughed and cried with the best of us. How are you all doing? I recently got hit by a car in a crosswalk on my way to the beach and kinda slowed me down now. We cannot write the script for sure. Best to you all. Patty

SWF seeks date for good times at her th...th...th...(OMG) 35th Class Reunion (How did y'all get that old?) Do you remember Mat Maids, Yearbook, Salle Sherrod's Senior English class and Ringball? Good, cause I'm a bit fuzzy on it all! Am willing to dutch on the costs, unless you have a profile on Wealthymen.com in which case we'll be using your credit card, not mine. Also, you must have retained a working knowledge of what you learned in science class - enough to understand that gravity effects more than just apples and footballs! Let's get this party started!!!

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to let everyone know something..
something that only longtime Valley of the Sun people would be interested in. In April there's going to be a Wallace and Ladmo Tribute Show (to read more click on my highlighted in blue name) in Mesa,AZ.
I spoke to Wallace and he's very excited about it.. there's going to be a "Who's (still alive)AZ. Who" there to celebrate the show.
Anyway you can read more at my Wallace,Ladmo & Gerald Fansite. The inside scoop is..and it's kinda sad, Wallace say's that this will be his last BIG EVENT deal public appearance. :>( After a nice run of fun fan events & shows..Walboy's going to retire.Back to his private world of painting toy lead soldiers, watching a movie at Harkins theatres..eating taco's and feeling satisfied about his part he played in AZ. entertainment history. He'll still do the barrel drawings at the fansite, maybe we'll have a "ASK WALLACE?" page..but if ya want to see and hear the man we all watched as kids, this is it.
Thanks!

It is hard to believe that is has already been over 3 years sinced I missed the last reunion! It is also hard to believe that I am now 51 and teaching physics! Yes it is hard to believe! The guy who could not add 2+2 is now drilling students in the finer points of 3D motion. Even scarier, I am now the head football coach at Chinle High School in Northern Arizona. We are even running the Veer next year. Though Chinle is primarily a basketball school(33 million, 6500 seat basketball arena) we do have a turf field and stands almost the size of Coronado's!
Hopefully we will see everyone doing well at the next reunion!

I can't believe it. I just finished watching my 40th SUPER BOWL. Out of all of them though, I believe Super Bowl 3 was still the best with Broadway Joe, the "gaurantee", and the NY Jets. But number 20 still has a special place in my heart.

I guess the first thing I would like to say to everyone is Hello. And like some of the rest of you I am finding it hard to believe we have been gone from Coronado a little over 30 years. Looking back over the year's I've realized how much I thought I knew, but really knew very little, I am still learning every day. But the memories I have of Coronado,& all my friend's are priceless. I am the mother of 4 boy's, Andy 25,Philip 24,Justin 14,& Jeremy 11 & 2 girl's, Kirstie 13,& Shelby Ann 3{she is my wonderful surprise package} I've also lost 2 children Kaitlynn,& Ryan. I am a stay at home mom & have enjoyed being able to do that. I am married to a wonderful man, his name is Jerry & we have enjoyed 24 wonderful year's together. But what I've enjoyed most is sharing all my wonderful memories of Coronado High School with my kid's, & all the great people I went there with. When my kid's notice what an awesome looking school Coronado is when they look in my yearbook's I know I went to the best school there was,& knew the best people to know in life. I often wonder where Mr. Newcomber, Mr. Hanson, Mrs. Autenreith,& so many of the other awesome teacher's are today,& what they are up to? Anyone know? please let me know. I am sorry to see I missed the class reunion, I will try to make the next one, from the pictures, it looks like you all had a wonderful time. I am glad I found the web page & you all maybe I will hear from some of you soon for now may god bless all of you.

To my fellow graduates of the Coronado High Class of 1973,
Well, I'm settled back to my life here in the Windy City. It's been a week now since our time together at the 30 year reunion and I'm sitting here reflecting on the emotions of last weekend. I'm sorry for those who couldn't attend, they don't know what they missed.
First, I personally wish to thank the Reunion Committee. NANCY KELLY STARR, BERNIE HILL GARCIA, TRAECY RASMUSSEN KIMBALL, SUSAN RANDALL BROWN, and JEFF JUETTEN. I wish to not only compliment them on this recent reunion, but also for those of the past. Your hard work and efforts to make our times together very enjoyable shall always be appreciated by all.
And I would especially like to thank them for making the evening of my 48th birthday so special for me. Arranging to have the Class of 1973 all to sing "Happy Birthday" to me shall be a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. And I thank you all for that also. I've told this story now to several people, several times this week. Each time I do, I get misty eyed and choked up. I don't know how I appeared up there on the platform, but I was very emotional. It was fortunate that the lighting was low because I was told by the people I shared my table with that my face was going in and out in various shades of red.
I would also like to extend a personal thank you to ALBERT GARCIA, his wonderful wife BERNIE HILL GARCIA, and LAURIE SWANSON KYRCHMERY. After the festivities of last Saturday evening died down, I found myself standing with them in the hotel lobby. The GARCIAS invited me back to there suite for a martini. The four of us together had cocktails, snacks, and a pleasant conversation for about an hour. What made this special to me is that the four of us had never hung out together back in our days at Coronado. I only knew them by name and passed them in the halls many times. I suppose that's one of the unfortunate things about having a graduating class as large as ours.
But that small gesture and short time together showed me the great thing about high school reunions. Not only can they renew old friendships, (like with my old friend MIKE DICKERSON, great to spend the time with you bud), but they can also help to build new ones. This too shall also be a great memory for me.
I also discovered that high school reunions will heal the wounds of old, petty grievances from situations back in our youth, and start a new friendship from it. (That was for you CLAUDE THYBEN.)
Afterwards now, reflecting upon it all, I've learned that no matter where in the country we now make our lives, (or in the world in some cases), or how we live our lives today, or how we were in our days back at Coronado; it doesn't matter who we "hung around" with, what cliques we were involved in, or whether we were "jocks", "longhairs", "kickers," or "freaks." We all have two common bonds that will forever link us all together. And those are, that group of buildings located at 2501 North 74th Street in Scottsdale Arizona, and the time between 1969 through 1973 that we all shared and attended there.
It was in that place and era, whether in good times or bad, that we all built our foundations, celebrated out youth, and began our adulthood.
Now I hear that there are plans to tear up Coronado; to rebuild and rearrange her. I say spend the money to upgrade her, but to keep her the way she is, and let her stand for many decades to come.
My oldest daughter, Rebekah, will be finishing her freshman year in high school next month. Recently, I attended a progress meeting with her, her counselor, and her teachers. When they asked me of my thoughts for her goals in school I told them two things. First, as a priority, I want a strong academic foundation for her so that she may have a good start for her future life. And second, that I want high school to be fun for her. That her four years will always be a great experience for her, filled with great times and memories, as mine are for me.
I asked JEFF JUETTEN if there is going to be a 35 year reunion. He said that there may surely be. With this I think about the several times I visited the Memory Table. I noticed that as we all looked through the articles from the EXPLORER, and gazed down at our then 17 and 18 year old faces from the '73 TRAIL, each person who also visited would point to one, two, even three picture of someone say, "Oh, I wonder how he/she is doing," or, "I wish that he/she would have come," or "It would have been great to see him/her again."
I suggest that if any of us who are still in contact with those of the CHS Class of 1973 who couldn't attend last weeks reunion, (or have never attended one of our reunions for that matter), that we urge and persuade them to be there for the 35th. For me personally, it would be my two best friends from Coronado, JEFF LYLE and BRENT ALLRED. And I would also like to mention KIM DANIEL MILLER.
I heard KERRY JACKSON and JOE BRINNONS name mentioned many times, along with RICK SEIDNER. Wouldn't it be great that, for the next time we all gather together, that we would have to rent a room that's twice the size of the one from last Saturday?
I became accessible to the Internet almost 10 years ago. I've seen how it has made the world a smaller place. I made a hobby out of finding old friends, classmates, and acquaintances through the years. When I first started, I arranged to have a few "on-line reunions" with alumnus's from Coronado in chat rooms. Some lasted a couple of hours. So with that, please feel free to add my name to your buddy lists, and if you ever see me on line, send me an Instant Message anytime.
If any of you should ever find yourself in the Chicagoland area, please feel at liberty to drop by my place of business and say hello. They are called Irv's Men's Stores. In the past I've had DANE TRAINES and ROD ZIEBIG do so; and even JEFF LYLE and BRENT ALLRED have stopped in. At the time of this writing my schedule has me at my Darien, IL location on Wednesdays through Fridays, the phone number is 630-910-1333. And my Saturdays and Sundays, (because I'm in retail), are at my Prospect Hgts., IL location. The phone number is 847-459-8060. I'd be happy to show you around Chicago if at all possible.
In closing, because this ran way to long, I'd like to leave you with a blessing from my Irish ancestors, in case I don't see or hear from any of you until the year 2008. (Do you think that KATHY FOX MINDERS will still be able to do the splits by then?)
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May GOD hold you in the palm of His hand.
Oh! and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
Sincerely,
Scott T. Schlief

May the sun shine warm upon your face;
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May GOD hold you in the palm of His hand.
Oh! and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
Sincerely,
Scott T. Schlief

Oh Yea! This was the best. I had such a great time (even though Trudie kept stealing my olives) and I will never forget it. Everyone was so kind, friendly, and full of energy. Can you believe it, at our age? I felt like a teenager again. Okay that might be stretching it a bit, but I haven't had this much fun with this many people in a long time. Hope we keep this site going for a while longer. Love reading the comments....Peace! Beth

Hmmmmmmm, let's see. After all this time, Sylvia Centoz, the female football player, is in great spirits, but Jeff "Superman" Hantla is still whining about his knee.
Maybe Sylvia should have been the starter. Ha ha! (Please don't kick my ass, Jeff.)
Well, I better sign off. If I'm going to go to the reunion, I have less than two days to rent a BMW, buy a toupe, and pump some Viagra into my system.

Just found out about the reunion this week. Hope there is room for me at the dinner. I get to come space available. Looking forward to seeing everyone. I love hearing all your stories. I am living winters in Scottsdale and summers in Truckee, California (near Lake Tahoe). Two wonderful teenagers and a great husband give me a full life. Teaching skiing at Sunrise and teaching water aerobics at Naturally Women Health Club gives me a br /eak from homemaking and working as a Home Show producer. I am back to racing Hobie Cat sailboats again after an 18 year break. Very greatful for the life we get to enjoy in the U.S. and the Lord's gracious hand over my life. See you all this weekend.

Unfortunately I'm unable to make it down to the BIG reunion,...I'm a "single poppa" up here with children and couldn't swing it. BUT I hope to make it down for another huge event on JUNE 14th at the Az.Historical Society in Tempe...that I helped create.over the past few years,I and another fellow started a Wallace n' Ladmo fan club on Yahoo!
Since then I've become personal friends with Wal-boy,Pat McMahon, Patsy Kwiatkowsi(Mrs. Ladmo) and a bunch of the gang who appeared on the show over the 36 years of laughter! Wallace & Pat & Patsy along with many people from the show will be there! Email me if your interested. I especially want to say HI to all my friends from Supai! I miss..and love ya ALL! Rob Cook :)

Hello Everyone,
It is so nice to be able to read some notes from my fellow alumni. I hope to see and say hello to as many of you as I can on Friday night.
30 years my gosh how time flies.
My life has been good to me. I am still single and enjoying life. No kids,no pets,
just a free hard working, hard playing spirit.
Reality hits hard when I see some old CHS friends who have passed away at such young ages.
Life is short so let's have fun at the 30 year reunion and enjoy each other's company.
Take Care

Isn't it scary that we are now the same age as most of the teachers we despised! What's even more frightening is that I am now retired from one profession and am now a full time teacher! There is now a new class of students who will in 30 years talk about me like I talked about my teachers. Wow! Kind of sobering isn't it?

I just read all of the comments and wish that more people would write . You al cant be as bad as I am at typing.I took Mrs Matwinkos class but had a dislocated finger on my left hand from football so I never got very good at typing. By the way,I hope some of you enjoyed watching football because if I had to do it all over I would be on the golf team and in student councel. I really would and then my back and neck and knee would not hurt every day and almost every night. I guess I did enjoy it though, especially coach Coppinger always telling us to get a haircut and turn doun the music in the weight room. It was really funny when Bennie Wright and I hooked up the public address system at track practice and started singing to the entire school. I also liked the tunnels under the school and boys home ec. Speaking of golf I think I will go and hit a snall bucket .. seeyou in a couple months.

How does the realization of three decades set with a class of individuals that would barely associate with individuals over the age of "30" back in 1973? Yes it's hard to believe we are where we are today. Hopefully most of us are where we are today because of the wonderful foundation that was laid down for us at CHS. I am truly looking forward to our next reunion. It should be good for the minds, hearts and souls of us all. Silvia Centoz
